The procurement analyst is a high-visibility, high-impact role that supports procurement agreements and transactional activities for Research & Development (R&D) sites across North America. This position manages numerous varied and complex tasks to ensure client, supplier, and buyer needs are met efficiently and effectively. Acting as the primary interface for inquiries, purchase orders, invoicing, and purchasing documentation, the ideal candidate is a dynamic, motivated problem solver with strong customer service skills. The Procurement Expeditor uses independent judgment to resolve issues, maintain uninterrupted supply, and uphold exceptional service to clients, suppliers, and internal buyers.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day R&D team and supplier needs, using discretion to resolve issues in the buyer’s absence.
  • Respond promptly to critical delivery, supply, and invoicing issues, resolving them independently without leadership intervention.
  • Prepare, negotiate, manage, and coordinate procurement agreements for materials and services.
  • Act as buyer of record with execution authority.
  • Negotiate terms such as T&Cs, lump sums, labor rates, mark-ups, and payment terms.
  • Create white paper agreements.
  • Analyze orders to confirm correct terms and conditions, leveraging Legal support during supplier negotiations when needed.
  • Monitor agreement expiration timelines and collaborate with buyers to extend, cancel, or recreate agreements.
  • Partner with supply chain and/or contract administrators to ensure agreements are implemented at the site level.
  • Support new buyers by providing guidance on S&L policies, procedures, and end-to-end processes after negotiations are completed.
  • Independently assess workload, prioritize tasks, and maintain uninterrupted supply to clients and stakeholders.
  • Initiate, develop, and implement process improvements, including SOP creation and training documentation.
  • Participate in global standardization initiatives and contribute to KPI improvement efforts.
  • Support ISO 9001 audit activities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Supply Chain or a related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong experience in procurement, supply chain operations, or expediting preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet annual goals.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage workload, work under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude; proactively supports team members and demonstrates professionalism with clients, suppliers, and buyers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with procurement systems such as SAP is essential.
