Procurement Specialist Overview:
The Procurement Specialist leads supplier management, sourcing strategy, and procurement activities for complex commodities, operational categories, or strategic suppliers. Negotiates complex agreements, manages supplier performance initiatives, and identifies opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiency, and supply chain improvement, while serving as a procurement subject matter expert and supporting cross-functional sourcing and operational initiatives.
This position will also be supporting the company’s operating model (SOAR) and contributing to the organization’s business value drivers, Profitable New Business, Productivity, Precision M&A, and Value-Based Pricing, through operational excellence, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.

Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
  • Successful execution of strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives
  • Effective negotiation and management of complex supplier agreements and contracts
  • Improved supplier quality, delivery, cost, and operational performance
  • Identification and implementation of procurement efficiency and cost reduction opportunities
  • Reliable supplier performance management and accountability processes
  • Strong supplier partnerships supporting operational and business objectives
  • Technical guidance and procurement support for cross-functional teams and junior staff

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related discipline preferred
  • Typically requires 4–6 years of procurement or supply chain experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of procurement, sourcing, and supply chain practices
  • Strategic sourcing and procurement management
  • Supplier negotiations and contract management
  • Supplier performance and relationship management
  • Cost reduction and operational improvement initiatives
  • Procurement compliance and risk management
  • Cross-functional sourcing and operational coordination
  • Data analysis and procurement reporting
  • Technical leadership and mentoring
  • Proficient Computer Skills – Microsoft Office and procurement systems
  • Excellent Communication Skills – both verbal and written
  • Works under minimal supervision and may supervise or mentor junior staff
