Project Manager Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful planning, coordination, and execution of multiple architectural projects simultaneously. This position requires a registered architect with strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. The Project Manager oversees project teams, manages client relationships, guides technical development, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the firm’s quality standards.
Project Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coordinate, and manage a project team of 2–5 architects and designers across multiple concurrent projects.
- Develop, write, and deliver project proposals and project scopes.
- Work collaboratively with clients, Project Architects, engineers, and consultants to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Manage overall project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to meet project goals.
- Oversee project budgets and financial performance, including tracking costs and approving invoices.
- Provide design direction and leadership to ensure project concepts align with client vision and firm standards.
- Lead project documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Direct day-to-day project coordination including correspondence with engineers, responding to municipal review comments, and managing permitting processes.
- Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication, service-oriented follow-through, and proactive issue resolution.
- Ensure project quality, accuracy, and compliance throughout all phases.
- Manage consultant and vendor contracts in alignment with firm standards and project requirements.
- Participate in staff scheduling and workload planning to maintain balanced project assignments.
- Mentor and coach junior staff to support professional development and project productivity.
- Attend industry events and represent the firm within the professional community.
- Community involvement or outreach participation is recommended.
- 5–s of architectural experience.
- Licensed / registered architect required.
- Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple project teams and building strong client relationships.
- Proven ability to develop and manage project schedules and budgets.
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Technical proficiency in relevant architectural and project management software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Ability to lead and motivate teams, resolve challenges, and guide decision-making.
- Professional participation in organizations such as AIA, NCARB, or local design networks.
- Community engagement or volunteer involvement.
