The Provider Coordinator will support patient scheduling, provider coordination, and administrative workflows in Coon Rapids. The Provider Coordinator will work onsite in a fast-paced oncology environment, using Epic and other healthcare systems to coordinate appointments, maintain provider schedules, support patient access processes, and ensure timely communication between patients, providers, and internal teams.

The Provider Coordinator will support patient scheduling, provider coordination, and administrative workflows in Coon Rapids. The Provider Coordinator will work onsite in a fast-paced oncology environment, using Epic and other healthcare systems to coordinate appointments, maintain provider schedules, support patient access processes, and ensure timely communication between patients, providers, and internal teams.
Provider Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, infusion treatments, procedures, diagnostic tests, surgeries, hospital admissions, and related services across multiple providers.
- Maintain provider schedules and calendars, document scheduling activity in Epic, and communicate updates to patients, providers, and internal departments.
- Manage referral, insurance, and scheduling work queues to ensure timely follow-up, accurate documentation, and resolution of outstanding items.
- Verify insurance coverage, assist with prior authorizations, provide telephone coverage, and route patient or provider messages appropriately.
- Support department administrative needs, including patient registration, records management, chart preparation, reporting requirements, interpreter coordination, training materials, and onboarding support as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED is required; post-secondary education in a medical field is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare scheduling, patient access, provider coordination, or healthcare administrative support role is required.
- Strong Epic experience is required, along with experience using EMR/EHR systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience scheduling patient appointments, procedures, diagnostic testing, infusion appointments, or provider schedules in a healthcare setting is required.
- Oncology or infusion scheduling experience, prior Provider Coordinator experience, patient-facing healthcare experience, and insurance verification or prior authorization experience are preferred.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, organization, multitasking, confidentiality, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
