Job Summary
The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for conducting chemical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process formulations, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards. This role plays a key part in supporting product quality, laboratory accuracy, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process formulations, and final products following established methods and specifications.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as pH meters, conductivity meters, UV spectrophotometers, Karl Fischer titrators, FTIR, and other analytical equipment.
- Conduct testing in accordance with compendial standards (USP, EP, BP, JP, or ACS) and EXCIPACT requirements.
- Record, calculate, and verify analytical data to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment and maintain instrument logs per SOP requirements.
- Enter data into LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and prepare analytical reports.
- Perform environmental monitoring and gowning procedures in cleanroom areas.
- Support investigations related to out-of-specification results, complaints, or equipment troubleshooting.
- Handle hazardous materials safely and maintain compliance with PPE and lab safety protocols.
- Participate in authoring, reviewing, or updating laboratory procedures and work instructions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in quality control or analytical testing.
- Hands-on experience in wet chemistry and microbiological techniques (acid/base titrations, water content, bioburden, endotoxin testing) preferred.
- Familiarity with LIMS and GMP/GLP laboratory environments
