The Quality Control Manager is responsible for leading the quality department and ensuring plastic sheet products meet company standards and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process. This role oversees quality technicians, performs inspections and audits, investigates quality concerns, implements corrective actions, and maintains compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements. The position works closely with production and management to improve processes, ensure product quality, and support continuous improvement while spending time both in the office and on the production floor.

Quality Control Manager Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Quality Control Technicians.
  • Inspect and approve incoming materials and finished products.
  • Perform quality inspections on plastic sheet products, including appearance, thickness, dimensions, and functionality.
  • Calibrate and maintain measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gloss meters, and color meters.
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits and maintain ISO/QMS documentation.
  • Investigate product defects, customer complaints, and returned materials (RMA), implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), COAs, and COCs.
  • Perform color testing and maintain color standards.
  • Develop and update quality control procedures for new and existing products.
  • Support production by troubleshooting quality issues and maintaining equipment as needed.


Quality Control Manager Requirements:
  • Previous quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, rulers, and dial indicators.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements and specifications.
  • Knowledge of quality audits, ISO/QMS systems, and regulatory compliance preferred.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion or plastic sheet manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and work on production equipment when necessary.
  • Basic mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work in both office and production environments.
