Quality Systems Engineer
Irvine, CA

Primary Function
This position provides support and expertise in all aspects of Plant Quality Systems. The Quality Systems include ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14001, FAA 14 CFR 145, EASA: JAR 145.1, and UK CAA Certifications. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with quality systems, leading quality improvement initiatives, administering the corrective action system, and coordinating the internal audit program.

Essential Functions
  • Plan, schedule, and support all departments in preparation for internal, customer, and third-party quality audits.
  • Lead or participate in internal audit teams; oversee audit scheduling, execution, reporting, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Serve as lead auditor to assess compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards and FAA/EASA/UK CAA/CASE regulations.
  • Administer the corrective action database and ensure timely response and closure of internal and external nonconformances.
  • Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, recommend corrective actions, and drive operational improvements.
  • Review customer contracts, purchase orders, and specifications to ensure compliance with quality requirements; propose alternatives or cost-effective solutions where needed.
  • Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures in alignment with customer and regulatory standards.
  • Host and support internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring audit readiness and compliance at all times.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues affecting production or compliance.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of quality-related training programs across the organization.
  • Contribute to problem-solving initiatives by determining root causes, implementing corrective actions, and validating results.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Specialized Knowledge & Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality or a technical field working with quality management systems (AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR regulations.

Position Criteria:
  • Proficiency in process auditing techniques and compliance verification.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with manufacturing, testing, inspection, and documentation processes.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Internal Auditor certification or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization and with external regulatory bodies.
  • Proven adaptability in dynamic, regulated environments.
  • Effective collaborator and contributor to cross-functional teams.
