This role is central to ensuring precision, reliability, and integrity in high-tolerance, mission-critical components. The Quality Inspector plays a key part in validating complex parts and assemblies used in high-consequence applications — where accuracy to the thousandth of an inch directly impacts performance and safety. Inspectors work closely with machinists, engineers, and program leaders to maintain a closed-loop quality process that protects the integrity of advanced tooling systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect precision-machined components and assemblies using advanced manual and digital metrology equipment (e.g., Faro Arm, laser trackers, micrometers, gages).
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure parts meet dimensional and functional specifications.
- Generate accurate and detailed inspection reports aligned with customer standards and AS9100 requirements.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure all inspection tools are properly maintained, compliant, and traceable.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve non-conformances, conduct root-cause reviews, and help prevent recurrence.
- Support ongoing process and quality improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing and inspection stages.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in precision manufacturing, aerospace inspection, or a related technical field (or equivalent education/training).
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision inspection instruments.
- Experience using Faro Arm, laser trackers, or Verisurf software is preferred.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and digital documentation systems.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to present findings to technical and customer-facing teams.
