Quality Inspectors are responsible for inspecting aerospace articles using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, company procedures, and FAA/EASA regulatory requirements. The role includes performing first article inspections, certification reviews, visual inspections, and interpreting technical documentation such as GD&T, aerospace specifications, and government regulations. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of manufacturing processes, effective teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to apply logical inspection methods while working in a regulated production environment.
Quality Inspector Responsibilities:

Quality Inspectors are responsible for inspecting aerospace articles using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, quality standards, company procedures, and FAA/EASA regulatory requirements. The role includes performing first article inspections, certification reviews, visual inspections, and interpreting technical documentation such as GD&T, aerospace specifications, and government regulations. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of manufacturing processes, effective teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to apply logical inspection methods while working in a regulated production environment.
Quality Inspector Responsibilities:
- Inspect articles to include certifications, compliance to engineering technical drawings, policies and procedures, and Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and/or European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulations
- Perform first article inspections (FAIs) and full certification reviews
- Visually inspect articles to acceptance requirements to include marking, labeling and packaging
- Read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, aerospace specifications and government regulations
- Interpret and analyze Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
- Other duties as necessary and assigned.
- High school diploma or GED plus five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to become an ASQ Certified Quality Inspector within two years of the position required
- Minimum 20/25 corrected vision and capable of passing a color vision eye exam
- Ability to use calipers, gauges, mic pine gauges and micrometers
- Knowledge of SAP
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Computer skills with MS Excel, Access and Word
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Associate's degree in quality or related technical field preferred
- Training in Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma concepts preferred
- Occasional overtime required
