Manage infusion referrals and intake workflows from initial receipt through treatment coordination.
Review referrals for completeness and identify missing or required documentation.
Coordinate with referring providers, patients, and internal teams to obtain missing information and resolve referral barriers.
Perform benefits verification and assist with prior authorizations for infusion therapies.
Follow up on outstanding documentation, authorizations, and referral requirements.
Manage a high volume of referrals while maintaining accuracy and meeting turnaround expectations.
Prioritize competing referrals and cases based on urgency and operational requirements.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation throughout the referral and intake process.
Communicate proactively with providers, patients, and internal teams regarding referral status and delays.
Work independently in a fully remote environment while maintaining productivity, responsiveness, and accountability.
Support patient-focused referral coordination to help facilitate timely access to infusion treatment.
Referral Coordination Specialist Qualifications
Associate degree or higher required; healthcare-related fields preferred.
Infusion experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred.
Direct experience with infusion referral and intake workflows.
Experience with benefits verification and prior authorizations for infusion therapies.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage high-volume referrals and competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience communicating with referring providers, patients, and internal healthcare teams.
WeInfuse and/or InfuseFlow experience preferred.
Experience with comparable infusion, referral, specialty pharmacy, or patient access systems will be considered.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fully remote environment.
