Reliability Engineer will collaborate with the North American Sites Maintenance Manager to oversee and ensure that North American Operations are actively working to increase Equipment Reliability to enhance productivity.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the implementation of Reliability programs, policies and procedures to ensure the North American sites reduction is equipment failures through good manufacturing practices and enhancement of equipment.  The primary role of this position is to provide the necessary engineering and technical support to continuously improve plant rotating and fixed equipment integrity, reliability, cost and economic performance.
Reliability Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance departments across all North American Manufacturing Sites. 
  • Perform failure analysis (i.e. root cause analysis) to determine and correct equipment problems and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Lead the Sites in the development and monitoring of the preventative maintenance program
  • Manage and execute the plants fixed equipment mechanical integrity program
  • Participate actively in department/plant safety and environmental programs
  • Provide administrative and technical support to the maintenance organization concerning improvement-oriented efforts.
  • Serve as leader and/ or member of cross-functional teams to resolve equipment problems, investigate incidents, and improve reliability
  • Develop and utilize metrics to identify issues, prioritize efforts to develop solutions, and justify spending on improvements.
  • Perform component failure analysis as required.
  • Perform duties in a manner that protects personal safety as well as the safety of all personnel on site. Whenever appropriate; promptly report Safety, health or Environmental incidents or issues to management so the situation can be corrected.
  • Develop preventative and predictive maintenance culture using maintenance best practices within your team. Evaluate existing procedures, calibrations, inspections, PM’s and PDM procedures for accuracy.
  •  Develop and track key KPI’s for the maintenance department to assess manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Conduct risk assessments and reliability-centered maintenance analyses with Apply engineering theory, practices Troubleshoot equipment for mechanical issues affecting reliability and work with crafts to implement improvements
  • Provide training and support to ensure proper implementation of reliability initiatives.
  • Work with equipment including rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and compressors. 
  • Create maintenance procedures where needed, otherwise update existing systems
  • Champions the mechanical, and principles to lead equipment root cause failure analysis
  • Review mechanical designs for plant and capital projects to ensure accuracy of design and to become familiar with the new assets
  • Provide input to plant outage plans & support execution of plant outages
  • Work within the management of change process
  • Provide technical assistance in determining root cause solutions to equipment failures and performance issues that improve asset reliability and increase productivity
  • Complete capital projects as assigned
  • Conformance with the Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 and RC14001 management systems.

Reliability Engineer Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical is required
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment with rotating and stationary equipment.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, machinery, and facilities, including predictive and preventative skills.
  • Sound understanding of maintenance techniques, tools, and reliability principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance management software, computer systems, and MS Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Familiar with OSHA’s process safety management standard regarding mechanical integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Strong work planning and organizational skills required
  • Experience with leading a team of employees to implement an improvement or new procedure.
  • Experience with presenting or communicating with small groups of hourly employees for training or other purposes.
  • Experience with performing inspections in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to diagnose and prioritize opportunities in areas of savings, throughput improvement, and yield improvement.
