Position Summary
We are seeking a full-time contract Research Associate to join our Biotechnology Lab Operations team. This role is essential for preparing high-quality culture media that supports plant research and production. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare plant tissue culture media by following established recipes and protocols.
- Adjust formulations when needed and collaborate with scientists to solve problems.
- Track and prioritize media requests to ensure timely completion.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Manage and organize chemical and supply inventory.
- Follow all lab safety, aseptic, and ergonomic practices.
- Stand for extended periods, lift 20–45 lbs., and manage multiple tasks during the workday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, microbiology, chemistry, agronomy, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, math, and biology.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and general laboratory practices.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work independently.
- Strong communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Prior experience preparing media or working with plant tissue culture preferred
- Familiarity with regulated lab environments and safety protocols preferred
- Experience in a production or research laboratory setting preferred
