The Senior Technical Account Manager will support and collaborate with regional directors and installation managers in pursuit of residential and commercial customer satWindoisfaction and growth across window and door residential glazing (RG), insulating glass (IG), and unitizers. This individual will help develop and recommend technical improvements to our processes and policies in concert with commercial, marketing, and product management teams and be the single point of contact for lab adhesion and compatibility testing.
Senior Technical Account Manager Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service, sales, & technical support to sales force & customers on chemical products, process issues, equipment start-ups, and technical inquiries.
- Understand & implement policy to achieve both customer & company goals.
- Work closely with sales, service & vendors to facilitate the sales effort & meet customer requirements.
- Evaluate customer bid requirements, specifications, & other pertinent data
- Prepare proposals using vendor software, sales catalogs & cost estimates according to technical and performance requirements
- Aid in the design & development of equipment & systems, & redesign of existing systems
- Notify inside & outside staff of new products & processes as needed
- Facilitate prompt remedy of customer technical problems, complaints & failures
- Maintain organization of order files, monitor in-house orders & assist sales & service with project related questions
- Prepare sales and activity reports, presentations, and research as directed by management
- Generate customer invoices and purchase orders to suppliers for services and equipment
- Manage assigned sales accounts and provide internal sales support.
- Work with customers to develop sales/demand forecast.
- Provide technical service in silicone electronic markets.
- Provide on-site technical assistance for start-ups of new installations, testing new products and troubleshooting.
- Investigate and document any customer complaints.
- Complies with safety rules and regulations, attends safety meetings and training, inspects work area for hazards/deficiencies and initiates action to correct them. Also, reports injury/illness and/or environmental incidents.
- Provide effective and timely communication and recordkeeping at every stage of a project. This will include (but will not be limited to) progress reports, updates, call reports, electronic laboratory notebook, and project milestones reached or missed.
- Provide on-site customer support as deemed necessary by the Business Development Manager and Operations and Sales Manager.
- Other duties as required.
Senior Technical Account Manager Requirements:
- BS/MS preferred. Professional license desired.
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
- Knowledge of silicone applications and adhesion to different building materials.
- Ability to write technical documents and specifications.
- Knowledge of architectural specification process and on-site job experience a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and market indicators and translate results into better solutions.
- Performance and achievement-oriented with an expectation of winning and a proven track record.
- Must be able to articulate performance differences between our portfolio and competitive products.
- Solid and efficient PC-based computer skills including but not limited to CRM tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and act with urgency and timeliness.
- Willingness to travel 40%.
