Surgical Support Technician Responsibilities:
- Performs targeted rounding in active patient areas to recover assets for processing and redistribution.
- Must be willing and able to communicate verbally with nurses, patients and visitors.
- Cleans, triages, and delivers specified medical devices and equipment. Troubleshoots functional issues with select medical devices.
- Completes performance verification and preventative maintenance.
- Tracks and documents all work functions in electronic database(s).
- May be called upon to coordinate resources for daily assignments.
- Must be able to move with a sense of urgency to ensure equipment is delivered within the service level agreement.
- Cleans, delivers, evaluates and inspects specified medical devices.
- Documents work activity in an electronic database.
- Delivers and recovers specialty carts, medical devices, beds and durable medical equipment.
- Cleans, delivers, evaluates and inspects specified medical devices.
- May be required to orders supplies and ensure adherence to unit/department budget, may be required to stock patient rooms or deploy supplies for use within unit/department, other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and take appropriate action
- Must be able to work around blood
- Must be able to walk long distances (up to 5 miles per day) while pushing a cart of equipment/supplies
- Lift equipment in excess of 35 lbs.
- Push/pull loaded carts of equipment in excess of 100 lbs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, in writing, e-mail or in person.
Preferred Qualifications:
- BLS Certification
