Technical Inside Sales Representative – Corrosion Test Equipment

The Technical Inside Sales Representative will serve as the primary salesperson for the corrosion test chamber product line. This role manages the full sales cycle—from initial customer engagement and quoting through order placement, production monitoring, delivery, and post-sale support. The individual in this role will work closely with customers, engineering, and production teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience and successful project outcomes.

Technical Inside Sales Representative Responsibilities:
  • Drive sales volume and growth for the corrosion test chamber product line by maintaining existing accounts and developing new business opportunities
  • Support and collaborate with outside sales representatives and distributors
  • Respond to incoming customer inquiries (phone and email) regarding products, quotes, order status, technical requirements, returns, compliance, invoicing, and shipment details
  • Prepare and present detailed quotations, including sizing, configuration options, pricing, lead times, shipping terms, and special requirements
  • Manage the entire sales order process—entering orders, monitoring progress, providing proactive updates, and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Conduct post-sale follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and provide ongoing support
  • Explain technical features, capabilities, and application requirements of the corrosion test chambers
  • Stay informed on ASTM and industry standards related to corrosion testing
  • Recommend product solutions based on customer needs and facility requirements
  • Provide technical assistance related to equipment operation, performance, and test parameters
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, production, and customers to ensure clear, timely communication
  • Maintain accurate customer information in ERP/CRM systems
  • Secure signed approval drawings for custom equipment and respond to supplier surveys when needed
  • Assist with the development of marketing content, sales collateral, and website/social media updates
  • Prepare sales and production reports as required
  • Communicate market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to management
Technical Inside Sales Representative Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales or as a sales engineer
  • Industrial or technical sales experience with strong mechanical/technical aptitude
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and CRM systems is a plus
  • Experience in corrosion testing, industrial electrical systems, water quality, or familiarity with ASTM/industry standards
  • Previous experience providing technical product support or working with laboratory/industrial equipment
