The MRI Tech will support inpatient and outpatient MRI imaging services in the Battle Creek, MI area. This 13-week contract role is scheduled for night shifts, Sunday through Thursday, and requires strong MRI procedure experience across routine body, neuro, musculoskeletal, spine, chest, breast, and advanced imaging studies. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of MRI experience, required teaching and community hospital experience, and current BLS plus ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification.
MRI Tech Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and advanced MRI imaging studies, including abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, breast, spine, musculoskeletal, prostate, perfusion, and related MRI procedures.
  • Support outpatient, inpatient, ER/trauma, adult acute care, adult ICU, and adult outpatient imaging needs.
  • Operate MRI equipment, including Philips 3T scanners, with GE experience preferred.
  • Use PACS and documentation systems such as EPIC and McKesson to support imaging workflow and patient records.
  • Prepare and/or administer contrast media and start peripheral IVs as needed.
  • Perform MRI techniques including diffusion imaging, gradient echo imaging, image post-processing, maximum intensity projection, multiplanar reconstruction, perfusion, spin echo imaging, surface coil imaging, T-1 weighted imaging, and T-2 weighted imaging.
  • Provide patient care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in accordance with facility standards.
  • Work night shift hours from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM on a 5x8 schedule, Sunday through Thursday, with guaranteed s per week.
  • Participate in rotational call coverage with existing technologists as required by the unit.
  • Maintain professionalism, safety, and quality standards while supporting approximately 10 MRI studies per day.
MRI Tech Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of MRI Tech experience is required.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certification is required; ARRT(R) and specialty certifications are preferred when applicable.
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are required.
  • Trauma Level I experience is preferred.
  • Experience with outpatient, inpatient, ER, adult ICU, teaching hospital, and community hospital work settings is required.
  • Must have experience with IV starts, PACS, contrast preparation and administration, and MRI documentation workflows.
  • Experience with EPIC and McKesson documentation systems is required.
  • Must be comfortable working night shift, Sunday through Thursday, with no scheduled weekends, no floating, and potential occasional extra shift coverage.
