Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our manufacturing team in Hudson, OH. This role involves planning, laying out, and performing complex arc and acetylene welding on production parts to ensure mechanical strength and precision. The successful candidate will be experienced in multiple welding techniques and capable of working in various positions including vertical, horizontal, and overhead. Experience with stelliting and robotic welding is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of basic welding experience
- Proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW techniques
- Ability to safely and effectively operate MIG, TIG, Carbon Arc, Submerged Arc, and Oxyacetylene equipment
- Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
- Proficient in using hand tools and grinders
- Ability to handle large parts and operate overhead cranes and tow motors
- Comfortable using personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, boots, and aprons
- Willingness to learn new welding processes and techniques
- Experience with robotic welding equipment is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate welding equipment according to specified procedures
- Weld components in accordance with blueprints and quality standards
- Use overhead cranes and tow motors to move and position large parts
- Perform welding in various positions, including overhead, vertical, and horizontal
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs
- Regular exposure to awkward or extended body positions while welding
- Ability to weld parts that may reach temperatures up to 600°F
- Must be comfortable working at heights above ground level
Work Environment:
- Industrial manufacturing environment with concrete flooring and overhead crane activity
- Exposure to high temperatures and increased noise levels
- Frequent proximity to other workers and heavy equipment
- Non-climate-controlled environment (heat/no air conditioning)
