The Chemical Operator is responsible for safely executing batch production processes within a manufacturing environment, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and operational standards. This role involves operating and monitoring processing equipment such as reactors, tanks, and material handling systems while accurately charging raw materials and controlling process conditions including temperature, pressure, and levels. The operator maintains detailed production records, packages finished goods and customer specifications, and supports material movement using manual methods and forklifts.

Chemical Operator Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate equipment, including start up, shut down, and change out of product. Equipment operated may include, but is not limited: to reactors, tanks, conveyors, forklift, pallet jack.
  • Cut open bags to make batches.
  • Charge raw materials as per batch steps.
  • Monitor and adjust controls to regulate tank and reactor levels, temperature, and pressure.
  • Record detailed and accurate reactor conditions on batch sheet.
  • Package final product in bags, drums, or supersacks as per customer and company guidelines.
  • Move product bags and drums manually and/or with a forklift.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Perform routine housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work station.
  • Observe safety precautions to prevent chemical reactions. Report product and machine malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
Chemical Operator Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Basic mathematical calculations using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to manually lift, push and move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift.
  • Able to wear a negative-pressure elastomeric seal respirator.
  • Chemical and/or Powder Machine Operator experience preferred.
