Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III – Electromechanical Actuation to lead the design, development, and validation of complex electrical systems and electromechanical actuation solutions for aerospace applications. This role provides technical leadership on engineering projects, ensuring designs meet performance, reliability, cost, and safety objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product development lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to work on advanced aerospace systems in a collaborative engineering environment focused on innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and development of complex electrical circuits, subsystems, and control architectures.
- Develop engineering solutions that meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Validate electrical designs through simulation, prototyping, laboratory testing, and system verification.
- Develop electrical test plans and support qualification and verification activities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and design reviews for junior engineers.
- Ensure engineering documentation complies with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to successfully integrate electrical designs.
- Support supplier technical reviews and coordinate engineering activities with external partners.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve product performance, quality, and engineering efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 4–6 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electromechanical system design, analysis, and engineering principles.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while leading technical activities.
Preferred Technical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of electrical system and circuit design.
- Experience with electromechanical actuation systems.
- Experience sizing and characterizing BLDC motors and solenoids.
- Electrical simulation, testing, and validation of systems containing motors, actuators, and solenoids.
- Familiarity with System Safety Assessments (SSA).
- Knowledge of aerospace electrical standards such as DO-254, IPC, or equivalent.
- Strong troubleshooting and system integration skills.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects and supplier engineering activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CATIA and MATLAB/Simulink is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. .
