Electrical Systems Engineer IV Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Systems Engineer IV to provide technical leadership for complex electrical systems engineering initiatives within the aerospace industry. This role will focus on the architecture, integration, modeling, safety, and reliability of advanced aircraft braking systems and related electro-mechanical systems.
Electrical Systems Engineer IV Responsibilities
- Develop advanced electrical system architectures and design solutions for complex aerospace engineering challenges.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams through system integration and design development activities.
- Create, review, and approve electrical designs, engineering analyses, and technical documentation.
- Develop and manage system and component requirements through structured aerospace requirements decomposition.
- Perform advanced system modeling using Simulink, including controls modeling and real-time simulations.
- Conduct system safety, failure mode, failure analysis, and reliability engineering activities.
- Develop and evaluate control strategies for electro-mechanical systems, including BLDC motor control and modeling.
- Analyze and resolve complex electrical and cross-disciplinary system engineering issues.
- Support the development and improvement of engineering design standards, safety practices, and quality guidelines.
- Provide technical guidance during program reviews and strategic engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with aircraft OEM engineering teams, suppliers, and internal engineering teams throughout system development and integration.
- Mentor engineers and help develop technical capabilities across the engineering organization.
- Work with a high degree of independence while providing technical leadership on complex engineering initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
- 6+ years of engineering experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Advanced experience with electrical system architecture and systems engineering.
- Expert knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and controls.
- Aerospace experience with embedded electronic control and/or software engineering projects.
- Experience with nonlinear controls and complex control systems.
- Experience with ARP4754 and aerospace systems development processes.
- Experience defining and decomposing aerospace system and component requirements.
- Experience with BLDC motor design, control, and modeling.
- Strong experience with Simulink modeling, controls, and real-time system simulations.
- Experience with system safety analysis, failure analysis, and reliability engineering.
- Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
- Ability to work effectively with aircraft OEMs, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Proficiency with Simulink and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
