The Equipment Maintenance Technician Level 4 is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial manufacturing equipment. The position also supports preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, fabrication, machining, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Equipment Maintenance Technician Level 4 is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and improving industrial manufacturing equipment. This technician will work across multiple maintenance disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and is expected to independently resolve most equipment issues. The position also supports preventative and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, fabrication, machining, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Equipment Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret equipment blueprints, assembly drawings, electrical schematics, and electronic schematics.
- Utilize diagnostic equipment including multimeters, hydraulic test gauges, precision levels, and other analysis tools to identify equipment issues.
- Perform welding, soldering, machining, fabrication, and basic plumbing as needed.
- Fabricate or modify components to support equipment repairs and plant operations.
- Identify opportunities for equipment modifications and improvements to increase reliability and performance.
- Support predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and Reliability Excellence initiatives.
- Lead shift start-up meetings and coordinate maintenance priorities with production and other departments.
- Follow required safety procedures including LOTO, Arc Flash, confined space, fall protection, hot work, compressed gas, and PPE requirements.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing practices including 5S, Standard Work, and CEDAC.
- Operate Powered Industrial Equipment after completing required certification.
Equipment Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 4 years of applicable industrial maintenance experience; a technical degree may count as 2 years of experience.
- Strong troubleshooting experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and electrical/electronic schematics.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and industrial equipment repair.
- Working knowledge of welding, soldering, fabrication, machining, and basic plumbing.
- Experience using multimeters and other maintenance diagnostic/testing equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Analysis preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on foot for 8–s.
- Must be able to obtain respirator certification and travel to other facilities or vendors as needed.
