Lead Quality Engineer

Pay: $63 –
The Lead Quality Engineer will ensure product quality through the development and enforcement of quality systems and manufacturing processes. This role will oversee quality functions including Quality Leading Indicators (QLIs), Supplier Quality, calibration, audits, and special processes while supporting manufacturing teams. The Lead Quality Engineer will lead corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and quality tracking efforts while mentoring employees and promoting consistent quality practices across operations.

Lead Quality Engineer Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary organizational contact for Quality Leading Indicators (QLIs), ensuring effective execution and follow-up actions
- Coordinate and prioritize Supplier Quality, calibration, audits, and special process activities to support quality, compliance, cost, and delivery objectives
- Lead the quality team in driving continuous improvement initiatives and improving Quality Management System effectiveness
- Identify and address team training, mentoring, and professional development needs
- Establish and achieve Quality Systems goals aligned with department and plant objectives
- Communicate quality issues to site leadership and frontline teams while supporting root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions
- Deploy the business system tools and processes to strengthen the quality management system performance
- Ensure organizational readiness for customer and third-party audits and assessments; host auditors as needed
- Coordinate supplier quality activities across internal divisions and supplier quality management systems
- Monitor customers' portals and requirements to ensure timely completion of actions and compliance with customer expectations
- Review and implement updates to customer requirements to maintain compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or a quality environment
- 3+ years of experience managing people
- Experience working in a quality systems function
- Ability to read blueprints and specifications
- Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, or TS16949
- Knowledge of coordinating measuring systems
- ASQ CQE or CMQOE
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification preferred
