The Sterilization Coordinator oversees the decontamination, cleaning, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment. They ensure regulatory compliance, manage inventory, and coordinate workflows.
Sterilization Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Processes routine medical device sterilization runs
- Processes medical device sterilization test samples
- Manages run records and documentation processing
- Guides customers through the sterilization process
- Conducts validation processes
- Processes biological indicators
- Oversees daily functions of the lab (organization and cleanliness)
- Assists the VP of Sterilization Technologies with growth initiatives
- Adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
- Execute additional responsibilities, as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Sterilization Coordinator Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry), Engineering or a related field
- Two (2) to Five (5) years experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries, with an understanding in sterilization methods and processes
- Experience with global regulatory requirements and quality standards preferred
- Experience with sterilization aspects of 510(k)/IDE/PMA device submissions and/or other worldwide submissions and clearances preferred
- High level of professionalism with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Exceptional time management abilities with proven success managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership and drive tasks to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate effectively in a team, and drive projects to completion.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the flexibility to adjust to and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound decision making capabilities.
- Dependable, punctual and committed to maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
