Cleveland-area staffing and recruiting firm recognized among 50 high-growth businesses founded or led by Miami University alumni

(AVON, Ohio), October 2026 – Hunter Recruiting, a woman-owned staffing and recruiting agency based in Northeast Ohio, has been named to Miami University’s 2026 RedHawk50, recognizing the 50 fastest-growing businesses founded, owned, or led by Miami University alumni.

Hunter Recruiting ranked No. 42 on the annual list, joining a diverse group of growing companies across the country, including GoodShip, Remote Vans, Soundtrace, HighByte, and Arrive Logistics.

Presented by Miami University’s John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship within the Farmer School of Business, the RedHawk50 recognizes business growth based on compound annual growth rates over a multi-year period. Over the past year, Hunter Recruiting’s headcount grew significantly to 300 Ohio employees and 420 total employees nationwide, propelling the company to No. 2 on Crain’s list of Northeast Ohio’s largest women-owned businesses.

Founded in 2006 by President and CEO Gabrielle Christman, Hunter Recruiting has grown into a national workforce solutions partner that connects top talent with growing organizations in industries such as science, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and more. Headquartered in Avon, Ohio, the company is an essential link for hard-to-reach professionals and employers. Through services such as direct hire recruiting, temporary staffing, executive search, and other flexible workforce solutions, Hunter Recruiting supports organizations through growth periods, critical staffing shortages, and leadership transitions.

“Being recognized among the fastest-growing businesses led by Miami alumni is an incredible honor for our entire team,” said Christman. “I’m grateful to have nurtured leadership skills at Oxford, which is a place like no other.“

Christman attended Miami University as a pre-med undergraduate with a thematic sequence in Entrepreneurship. Her college experience included leadership opportunities in research labs, classrooms, Greek life, and campus organizations. Those experiences helped develop the skills she would later apply to founding and growing Hunter Recruiting.

Hunter Recruiting’s Miami connections extend throughout its team, including fellow alumni Dan Moran, Vice President; Shelley MacDonald, Controller; and Diana Sewall, Recruiter.

“Having so many Miami graduates connected to Hunter makes this recognition even more special,” Christman added. “We’re grateful to Miami University for this honor and congratulate the other RedHawk50 companies whose growth and innovation continue to inspire us.”

The RedHawk50 recognition reflects Hunter Recruiting’s continued growth and its commitment to connecting employers with experienced professionals. As an Ohio recruiting agency with national reach, Hunter supports organizations navigating challenging hiring markets, particularly in specialized technical and professional fields.
