Hunter Recruiting is on the hunt for a Business & Finance Legal Assistant. This role focuses on document preparation and proofreading, transaction and closing support, billing coordination, file management, and communication with attorneys, clients, and other legal team members.
Business & Finance Legal Assistant Responsibilities:
Provide attorneys and other professionals within the Business and Finance Practice Groups with efficient, forward-thinking administrative support.
Review, edit, and proofread detailed legal documents, identifying inconsistencies or errors and communicating them to the appropriate team members.
Prepare and organize documents required for transactions and closings based on established checklists.
Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to collect necessary documentation and assemble completed closing books for attorney review.
Maintain clear and professional communication with attorneys and legal team members regarding assignments, project needs, transaction progress, and deadlines.
Partner with the legal team and accounting department to collect and organize time and expense information needed for closings.
Assist with all aspects of the billing process, including reviewing BIMs, providing comments, making necessary edits, preparing and updating reports, drafting cover correspondence, and following up on billing questions from clients and attorneys.
Handle a variety of administrative responsibilities independently, including reviewing and releasing attorney time entries, managing Continuing Legal Education registrations and records, and coordinating reimbursement requests and follow-up.
Draft and review correspondence, letters, and memoranda while ensuring compliance with Firm standards.
Deliver a high level of professional and responsive service in all interactions with clients.
Maintain exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and comfort working with numerical information.
Identify upcoming needs and take initiative to complete required tasks and projects without waiting for direction.
Address requests promptly, demonstrating urgency while effectively organizing competing priorities.
Track important deadlines and proactively notify the legal team of upcoming due dates when appropriate.
- Support the organization of client communications, emails, printed materials, and incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Business & Finance Legal Assistant Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working as a Legal Assistant is strongly preferred.
Strong command of written and spoken English, including proper grammar and standard usage.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and a commitment to maintaining strong technical skills and learning new software through available Firm training.
