CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities
- Set up new and repeat jobs efficiently from blueprints and job routers
- Create programs at the machine and produce parts to blueprint specifications
- Submit parts and achieve first article approval
- Meet machine rate targets listed on the job router
- Ensure processes are stable and ready for operator handoff
- Operate CNC machines while monitoring and maintaining part quality
- Change worn tooling and adjust machine offsets as needed
- Inspect and document critical features per inspection requirements
- Complete all required production documentation and enter setup/production data daily
- Properly identify machined parts using labels or tags
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work independently while keeping foreman and engineering informed of issues or process changes
CNC Machinist Qualifications
- CNC machining experience, including setup experience preferred (3+ years ideal)
- Proficiency with Fanuc M and G codes
- Ability to read blueprints and strong understanding of GD&T
- Experience using precision inspection equipment
- Strong math skills
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machines preferred
- Aerospace or precision machining background preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
