Position Overview

Position Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role works closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance, improve product quality, reduce waste, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer analyzes production data, identifies process improvements, and implements solutions that enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
- Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and defects.
- Support new product introductions by developing manufacturing methods, tooling, and process documentation.
- Design and implement process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
- Collaborate with quality teams to investigate root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Evaluate equipment performance and recommend upgrades, modifications, or replacement when necessary.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, and engineering specifications.
- Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow assessments to optimize production operations.
- Support capital projects, equipment installations, and process validation activities.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and utilize data to drive operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Train production personnel on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
Manufacturing Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and process optimization.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyze data and use problem-solving techniques to identify and implement solutions.
- Experience with root cause analysis tools and corrective action processes.
- Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean certification.
- Experience with automation, robotics, CNC machining, assembly, or process engineering.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing metrics.
- Experience supporting capital equipment projects and process validations.
