Position Overview
The Mechanical Engineer II performs intermediate-level mechanical engineering assignments related to product design, system analysis, and mechanical component development. This position contributes to engineering projects by developing design solutions, supporting testing and validation activities, analyzing engineering data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet performance, reliability, quality, and manufacturability requirements. Mechanical Engineer II works under general supervision and is expected to apply sound engineering principles to solve technical challenges and support continuous product and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop moderately complex mechanical component and subsystem designs using CAD and engineering analysis tools.
- Perform engineering analysis and evaluate technical data to assess system performance, functionality, and feasibility.
- Support design improvements that enhance product reliability, manufacturability, quality, and cost efficiency.
- Prepare, review, and maintain technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and related documentation.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering problem-solving discussions.
- Support troubleshooting of mechanical systems and components.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and development of corrective actions for mechanical and product-related issues.
- Support mechanical testing, validation, and qualification activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
- Apply engineering principles and manufacturing knowledge to support new product development and existing product improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer requirements, product quality, safety, and overall business objectives.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with mechanical design, engineering analysis, and product development.
- Ability to work effectively under general supervision while managing assigned engineering projects and responsibilities.
- Mechanical design and engineering analysis techniques.
- CAD modeling and mechanical drafting practices.
- Mechanical testing and validation methods.
- Root-cause analysis and technical troubleshooting.
- Understanding of product development and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
