The Mechanical Engineer will design, develop, and implement mechanical systems and components. The Mechanical Engineer will leverage their experience to contribute to the innovation, improvement, and optimization of products and processes.
Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and assemblies in the CAD software and using engineering principles
- Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and tests to validate designs, ensure performance, and mitigate risks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project designs, manufacturing, and quality assurance
- Ensure designs meet requirements and specifications
- Evaluate and select materials, components, and suppliers based on performance, cost, and reliability considerations
- Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and problem-solving activities to identify and resolve design challenges and optimize opportunities
- Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities, including the design and fabrication of test fixtures and prototypes
- Document design specifications, engineering drawings, test plans, and reports in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/product design
- Experience with mechanical components and systems
- Proficient in CAD software and engineering analysis tools
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, and materials science
- Experience with product development processes, including design, prototyping, testing, and validation
- Ability to communicate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with product lifecycle management software and tools
- Knowledge of design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements applicable to mechanical engineering
- Experience with mechatronics, robotics, or electromechanical systems
