As a Teaching Artist, you’ll work directly with 5th and 8th grade students, helping them develop cooperation, respect, focus, and self-expression through the transformative experience of social dance. This is more than teaching steps — it’s about creating safe, joyful classrooms where students thrive.

- Lead engaging in-school dance residencies
(10-week programs, 2 days/week, 20 total sessions) - Teach foundational social dances
- Create a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom culture
- Encourage teamwork, confidence, and respectful communication among students
- Partner with teachers, schools, and program staff to support student success
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine passion for working with youth ages 10–13
- Experience in dance, theater, performing arts, education, or youth programming
- Strong communication skills and a confident classroom presence
- Ability to manage classroom behavior with empathy and professionalism
- Dependable, flexible, and committed to completing the full residency schedule
- Willingness to travel throughout Northeast Ohio (primarily Cuyahoga County)
- Reliable transportation and prompt communication via phone/email
- Ability to maintain a professional dress code (no sneakers)
- Attend mandatory paid training (August 3-7, 2026)
- Pass BCI & FBI background checks
