The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and developing production teams and processes to meet safety, quality, production, and customer service objectives. This individual will oversee daily production activities, coach and develop employees, coordinate resources, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining a safe, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
Production Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and develop production employees to meet safety, quality, productivity, and customer service goals.
- Plan, organize, and execute daily production and assembly schedules to ensure work is completed on time.
- Coordinate production activities including scheduling, staffing, planning, maintenance, purchasing, and material needs.
- Lead team meetings and provide ongoing training and development to employees.
- Monitor production performance and maintain established productivity and quality standards.
- Track and analyze production data and communicate results to the team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall production performance.
- Identify and reduce scrap, waste, downtime, and other production inefficiencies.
- Train and support employees in the use of quality tools and processes.
- Ensure employees have the equipment, materials, training, and resources needed to meet production goals.
- Monitor work areas and employee practice for unsafe conditions or behaviors and take corrective action when necessary.
- Maintain a safe working environment and promote employee well-being.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and other departments as needed.
- Balance multiple production priorities and adjust plans based on changing business needs.
- Complete First Aid training and maintain required certification.
- Associate Degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field with 3+ years of supervisory experience in a team-based environment; OR 5+ years of supervisory experience in a team-based, process-oriented, customer-focused, quality-conscious manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience with production scheduling, staffing, workflow coordination, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety, quality, and production processes.
- Experience with continuous improvement and reducing scrap, waste, and production inefficiencies preferred.
- Experience tracking and analyzing production metrics and performance data.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Purchasing, and other departments.
