The Reliability Engineer will play a key role in improving plant equipment reliability, eliminating recurring failures, and reducing unplanned downtime and total asset lifecycle costs. The Reliability Engineer will partner closely with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Capital Projects to analyze equipment data, identify reliability risks, implement preventative/predictive maintenance strategies, and drive continuous improvement across the plant.
Reliability Engineer Responsibilities
  • Analyze equipment and process data from CMMS, field testing, and other sources to identify reliability trends, recurring failures, and opportunities for improvement
  • Identify and prioritize equipment “bad actors” and develop action plans to eliminate the most critical sources of unplanned downtime
  • Lead and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to determine failure cause and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Preventative and Predictive Maintenance (PM/PdM) strategies based on equipment criticality and reliability requirements
  • Partner with Maintenance and Operations teams to improve equipment performance, maintainability, and overall asset reliability
  • Support Early Management activities for new and modified equipment, ensuring reliability and maintainability are incorporated into Capital Projects from design through installation
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Planned Maintenance programs and provide training on reliability tools, methodologies, and precision maintenance practices
  • Evaluate asset lifecycle costs, repair/replacement requirements, equipment downtime, and MRO considerations to optimize maintenance strategies and reliability investments
  • Develop reliability reports, charts, calculations, diagrams, and other analysis to communicate equipment performance and recommend improvements
  • Lead and develop reliability capabilities across Maintenance, Engineering, and technical teams while coordinating internal and external resources on reliability projects and initiatives
Reliability Engineer Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Operations, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing/maintenance or reliability experience
  • Experience working in common CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
Reliability Engineer Additional Skills
  • Experience with TPM
  • Experience with condition-based monitoring technologies such as vibration, thermography, motor circuit analysis, or tribology
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Project management experience
