Position Summary
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, replenishment, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment throughout the facility. This role supports daily operations by maintaining inventory accuracy, fulfilling supply requests, and providing exceptional customer service while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Store and replenish supplies in clean rooms, carts, and designated supply areas while following proper inventory rotation procedures.
- Scan inventory labels to generate replenishment orders for stock and non-stock items.
- Pick, stage, and distribute supplies for Case Carts, Exchange Carts, Code (Crash) Carts, and procedural carts/trays.
- Monitor supply locations for expired or recalled products and remove items in accordance with company policies.
- Distribute oxygen tanks and minor medical equipment as needed.
- Deliver supplies and packages to nursing units, clinics, and other departments using appropriate tracking and signature technology.
- Respond to customer requests via phone, email, and other communication channels in a professional and timely manner.
- Process inventory issues and credits within the ERP system while ensuring accurate cost allocation.
- Report inventory discrepancies and maintain required documentation.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Utilize handheld scanners, package tracking systems, and other inventory management technologies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, ensuring supply locations remain orderly and fully stocked.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years of supply chain, inventory, warehouse, or materials management experience
