Vibration Test Engineer

The Vibration Test Engineer is responsible for planning and executing propeller vibration test activities to determine compatible propeller and engine combinations for aircraft installations. This role includes defining test and instrumentation requirements, coordinating test operations, managing test logistics, analyzing and interpreting data, and communicating technical results. Testing is conducted both onsite and at customer locations. This role requires up to 25% travel, including occasional international travel. Work environments include office space, test laboratories, and aircraft hangars. The engineer will install propellers and vibration test equipment and will fly on test aircraft to collect data. This position will support progression toward FAA ODA Unit Member status.

Vibration Test Engineer Responsibilities
- Perform propeller vibration testing to evaluate propeller and engine compatibility
- Plan and manage vibration test projects, including test setup, execution, and coordination
- Define instrumentation and data acquisition requirements
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports
- Install strain gauges and vibration test equipment on aluminum and composite components
- Communicate technical findings with internal teams, customers, and external consultants
- Support configuration, design, and installation discussions related to testing
- Manage multiple projects and schedules simultaneously
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering Technology with A&P certification
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
- Strong computer skills (MS Office required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Flight test experience
- Pilot experience and knowledge of general aviation aircraft
- Experience with or knowledge of electronic test equipment
Technical Competencies
- Flight testing principles, including test planning, data acquisition, data reduction, and technical reporting
- Vibration and fatigue analysis
- Aircraft performance fundamentals
