Front Desk Coordinator Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dependable Front Desk Coordinator to support the daily administrative operations of a busy Cardiology and Electrophysiology medical office. This is a non-clinical, patient-facing administrative role focused on appointment scheduling, patient communication, Athena work queues, documentation, and general office support.


Front Desk Coordinator Key Responsibilities
  • Manage patient calls, voicemail, and team emails.
  • Manage Athena work queues/buckets and complete associated administrative follow-up.
  • Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Coordinate scheduling for Cardiology and Electrophysiology patients.
  • Complete patient outreach related to appointments and follow-up needs.
  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain patient documentation within Athena.
  • Maintain appointment ticklers and follow-up lists.
  • Support general medical office and department administrative workflows.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff regarding patient scheduling and administrative needs.
  • Maintain organized patient records and work queues.
  • Provide cross-coverage and administrative support to the team as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with patients and internal clinical teams.
  • Manage multiple administrative priorities and follow-up items in a busy medical office environment.

Front Desk Coordinator Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a Cardiology or Electrophysiology medical office environment.
  • Previous medical office administrative experience required.
  • Hands-on appointment scheduling experience required.
  • Athena experience required.
  • Strong patient communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with email/inbox or work queue management.
  • Accurate data entry and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients and internal clinical teams.
  • Comfortable working onsite in a busy Cardiology/Electrophysiology medical office environment.
