The Laboratory Technician is a hands-on, execution-focused role supporting day-to-day applied research in laboratory, plant, pilot plant, clinical, consumer, and computer-based environments. This individual will perform basic and critical experimental work, including assembling samples and prototypes, running standard laboratory routines, executing simple technical changes, and documenting technical and consumer data with rigor and accuracy.

Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
  • Assemble samples and prototypes and prepare products for technical, analytical, and consumer testing.
  • Execute standard laboratory test routines and procedural experimental work in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Place and execute technical and sensory testing, including small- and large-scale qualitative and quantitative consumer studies.
  • Produce, review, analyze, and document technical and consumer data points with accuracy and appropriate technical rigor.
  • Create and update specifications using standard information and execute changes to simple technical solutions.
  • Submit products for analytical testing and communicate unexpected results promptly to the supervisor and product team.
  • Support the product team in refining and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Conduct customer and market research and document findings analytically.
  • Deliver work on time and at the expected quality level, escalating conditions that may affect outcomes to the supervisor.

Laboratory Technician Requirements:
  • Interest in hands-on experimentation, basic science, and procedural work.
  • Experience in research and development product testing and documenting results.
  • Experience placing and executing technical or sensory testing in a similar industry; consumer packaged goods or pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative consumer tests and standard technical tests performed according to SOPs.
  • Strong technical rigor when producing, reviewing, and documenting technical and consumer data.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and web browsers such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
  • Ability to learn and use company systems; experience with Veeva, Nexus, MyLearning, SMART, Desktop Reporter, or GAIMS, is desirable.
  • Strong analytical documentation and communication skills, including the ability to report unexpected results clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute assignments with excellence, on time, and at the required quality level.
