The Laboratory Technician will work in a research lab that supports stable operations, productivity, and growth projects across the network including the Composites and Insulation businesses.
Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Preparing samples for various analyses
- Working with various glass and raw material samples for the Composites and Insulation businesses.
- Physical property testing on a variety of materials.
- Working in hot environment to melt glass for testing.
- Work with a variety of equipment to mix and melt glasses depending on project objectives.
- Work with cutting and grinding equipment to prep refractory brick samples.
- Working in hot environment to test refractory samples.
Laboratory Technician Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- High School Diploma or GED – Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with raw material splitting and grinding.
- Experience with particle size sieving.
- Comfortable working with saws and other equipment.
