The Binder Sciences Laboratory Technician will be an active member of a team dedicated to delivering innovative binder systems and products for the Insulation market. This role provides technical support for fundamental research through chemical preparations and laboratory prototype testing. In addition, the technician will contribute laboratory testing expertise for scale-up trials at the manufacturing facility.

Binder Sciences Laboratory Technician Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safety standards: all accidents are preventable, safety is everyone’s responsibility, and working safely is a condition of employment
- Participate in safety meetings and Job Hazard Analyses
- Performs laboratory and application testing using standard test methods
- Conduct experiments designed by lead investigators
- Document and communicate results
- Support non-standard testing for novel applications
- Complies with all plant safety policies and procedures
- Tests physical and chemical properties using trial test methods
- Protects trade secrets, proprietary formulations, processes, and test methods per confidentiality requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, material science, or other technical field preferred
- Associate’s degree in a technical field
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Hands-on aptitude for supporting rapid prototyping
