For this contractor assignment, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a strategic Duck Creek Manuscript Refactor initiative focused on modernizing our policy platform and preparing for a future migration to Duck Creek OnDemand Active Delivery. The successful candidate will possess a combination of strong project leadership and hands-on Duck Creek expertise. Experience leading complex projects, removing legacy customizations, and guiding cross-functional teams through technical change while maintaining alignment with business objectives is essential to success.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Deliver the Manuscript Refactor initiative on schedule and with high quality.
• Drive alignment between business and technology stakeholders.
• Reduce technical complexity by supporting the removal of legacy customizations.
• Establish a strong foundation for future migration to Duck Creek OnDemand.
• Lead with accountability, transparency, collaboration, and a focus on results.
• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of the Duck Creek Manuscript Refactor initiative.
• Manage scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, budget, and project governance.
• Drive accountability and collaboration across business, technology, testing, and vendor teams.
• Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution, and executive-level status reporting.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership:
• Build strong partnerships with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and development teams.
• Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on delivery and continuous improvement.
• Align teams around common objectives and navigate competing priorities effectively.
Technical Oversight
• Provide project leadership informed by a strong understanding of Duck Creek Policy, Manuscripts, configuration, workflows, and integrations.
• Support efforts to identify, analyze, and remove legacy customizations while preserving critical business capabilities.
• Partner with technical teams to align solutions with Duck Creek best practices and out-of-the-box functionality.
• Help coordinate activities supporting future migration to Duck Creek OnDemand, including leading other projects as needed in support of the larger migration effort.
Required Skills:
• IT Project Management experience leading complex software delivery initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience managing modernization, refactoring, upgrade, or migration initiatives within Duck Creek environments, including Duck Creek Policy and Manuscript.
• Proven success leading cross-functional teams in Agile and Agile Hybrid delivery environments.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and leadership skills.
• Ability to influence without authority and build strong working relationships across organizational boundaries.
• Experience managing risks, dependencies, budgets, and executive communications.
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
• Experience with Duck Creek OnDemand migrations or readiness initiatives.
• Property & Casualty insurance industry experience.
• Experience removing legacy customizations and adopting out-of-the-box platform capabilities.
• Duck Creek certifications.
• PMP, CSM, or equivalent project management certification.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in leading or facilitating projects in an application development, infrastructure, process, or similar areas is required.
- {OR} Bachelor's Degree or higher in a Business or Technical discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Communications, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Project Management) and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in leadership or in leading or facilitating projects in an application development, infrastructure, process, or similar areas.
