Production Associate Job Summary
The Production Associate is an entry-level position within the manufacturing area, primarily responsible for changing over machines between products and performing weight-up or packaging duties within the production department. Ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost and meets customer specifications and delivery requirements in accordance with policies and procedures.
Production Associate Responsibilities
  • Performs all required machine changeover cleaning to ensure machine start up is efficient.
  • Obtains the correct documentation for the batch. Ensures the correct ingredients are delivered to the work area. May be required to obtain the correct ingredients for mixing and weigh out the ingredients to meet the recipe specifications.
  • Sets up and starts any weigh-up or packaging machinery, checking all controls for adherence to operating/safety procedures.
  • Notifies appropriate personnel of any issues, problems or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Accurately supplies/supports Production Operators with appropriate materials/functions to efficiently keep all equipment operational.
  • Completes and maintains required paperwork and/or documents.
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
Production Associate Requirements
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and/or hear.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except for high noise areas.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as safety glasses and shoes, dust mask, hard hat, respirator, face shield, hearing protection, chemical suit, gloves, aprons, etc.
