Quality Manager Summary
The Quality Manager will interface with leadership to assess production capabilities, ensure compliance with safety policies, and maintain quality standards. Additionally, they will oversee and develop the Lab and Quality personnel, implementing methods for continuous improvement, and adhere to API (American Petroleum Institute) certification and manufacturing standards, while driving a culture of continuous quality improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in pipeline production or steel pipe fabrication.

Quality Manager Responsibilities
  • Interfacing with leadership regarding the facility’s capabilities and production rates, quality controls, and overall viability to service customers' needs.
  • Taking initiative regarding the development of and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Holding the team accountable to required metrics and being hands-on in the Lab and on the production floor.
  • Overseeing Lab and Quality personnel; hiring, training & developing, and leading the team.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate API Pipe and production equipment.
  • Maintaining API certification as well as all other applicable manufacturing certifications as directed.
  • Assisting in the implementation of new methods for continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Ensuring that pipeline products and coatings adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Working according to deadlines for the delivery of products.
  • Training/managing production line staff in production practices/quality assessment of goods.
  • Tracking pipe and coil through the manufacturing process with 100% accuracy.
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final pipe to customer, industry & API standards.
  • Implementing and utilizing continuous quality improvement standards.
Quality Manager Requirements
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a quality management position.
  • Associates Degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • API Pipe experience preferred; but not required.
  • Must be extremely proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs., twist and turn, kneel, and stand for long periods of time, climb a ladder, and work overhead as required.
