The Tax Manager will be involved with overseeing all aspects of state and local tax compliance, planning, and consulting for our clients. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of state and local tax laws and exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage a team and deliver high-quality services.
Tax Manager Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage SALT practice, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
  • Review and analyze state and local tax returns for accuracy and compliance.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and communicate changes to the team and clients.
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive tax solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Assist in business development efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm policies.
Tax Manager Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (master's preferred).
  • CPA or EA license required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in state and local taxation.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax laws and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience managing teams.
  • Proficiency in tax research tools and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
