Embedded Controls Engineer

The Embedded Controls Engineer will focus on developing automated machine systems and optimizing control algorithms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, proficiency in Visual Studio, and experience in embedded firmware engineering. This role requires a balance of skills in controls engineering to excel in designing and implementing advanced control systems.
Embedded Controls Engineer Responsibilities:
- Interface with customers and sales to define project requirements.
- Work with our Sales team to develop project estimates.
- Design electrical controls for machines to meet customer requirements for vinyl sawing, welding, corner cleaning, and fabrication.
- Develop PLC software for machine control to meet defined performance requirements.
- Develop complete electrical schematics.
- Meet required timing for engineering design release.
- Provide Technical Support for customers, manufacturing, sales, and field service.
- Drive and support productivity and operator experience improvement with changes to programming, equipment, and/or HMI screens.
- Develop, update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including robotic programs, PLC programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, hydraulics, and pneumatics distribution and control.
Embedded Controls Engineer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical controls, with a strong focus on PLC programming and proficiency in Visual Studio.
- Hands-on experience with motion control, robotics, machining, and automation.
- Proficiency in HMI programming.
- Strong skills in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for electrical schematic design and system modeling.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
