The Journeyman Mechanic will repair, maintain and service all Round Can machinery.
Journeyman Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Responsible for adjusting, trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components of Can Line equipment. May work in other areas of the Department as assigned.
- Will be required to make modification to equipment where needed and to make improvements or changes in the operation as directed.
- Performs preventative maintenance as needed.
- Responsible for the lubrication of the equipment and seeing that sufficient supply of lubricant is provided to the Line.
- Operates and uses mechanical hand tools, shop tools, precision measuring instruments, gas and electric welders.
- Responsible for directing equipment operators in their duties.
- Maintains charge-out records of all parts and supplies used.
- Responsible to see that adequate package material is supplied for continual Line operations.
- Reports any damage to machines or equipment or spoilage of material to immediate Supervisor.
- Maintains entire work area in a neat and orderly manner.
Journeyman Mechanic Requirements:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Journeyman Card or equivalent schooling/training.
- 3-5 years of experience.
