Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities:

  • Sterile Processing Technician will clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assemble and package surgical instrument trays and sets
  • The Sterile Processing Technician will follow proper aseptic technique to prevent infection
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure sterile supplies are readily available for surgical procedures
  • Sterile Processing Technician will adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in the handling and disposal of hazardous materials

Sterile Processing Technician Skills:

  • Minimum of three years sterile processing experience
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRSCT) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or a similar active certification
  • Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge
  • Strong understanding of sterile processing techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge of physiology to understand the purpose and function of surgical instruments
  • Ability to operate sterilization equipment effectively and safely
  • Attention to detail to ensure proper cleaning, assembly, and packaging of surgical instruments
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
