Process Control Engineering Technician will support electrical and instrumentation maintenance support throughout the site.  This role will support the Automation and Process Control systems and provide first contact support to operations, maintenance, and automation engineers.  This position will participate in regular and scheduled maintenance activities with vendor/contractor support and other maintenance functions. The Process Control Technician will implement and support control system best practices.

Process Control Engineering Technician Responsibilities
  • Perform condition monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Control Systems DeltaV and GE Fanuc/ Allen-Bradley PLC, VFD, and communication systems.
  • Perform software maintenance of all relevant systems.
  • Responsible for Password integrity of all Control systems. Assign system access levels.
  • Ensure sufficient stock of spare parts for Control Systems, Information Technology, and communication systems.
  • Liaise with other departments for coordination of maintenance activities.
  • Carry out emergency procedures as necessary. 
  • Calibrate, install, and maintain electrical/electronic equipment, pneumatic process control, and related systems.
  • Contributes to the design, implementation, and programming of control systems for equipment Upgrades and new installations.
  • Utilize computer and administrative skills for feedback to various maintenance systems utilizing current CMMS, or as directed by management.
  • Identify areas of improvement including design changes and preventive maintenance improvements.
  • Interact with production operators to understand issues and concerns and address appropriately.

Process Control Engineering Technician Requirements:
  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 or more years of industrial maintenance experience in electrical and instrument maintenance
  • Control Equipment/electrical technician apprenticeship card or Licensed electrician.
  • Hands-on experience in the Delta V system and PLC’s
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with people (Technicians, Engineers, Management) at all levels of the organization.
  • General computer skills - familiar with Microsoft software tools.
  • Comfortable in a position requiring frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, and a variety of physical movement including walking, kneeling, climbing ladders, etc.
