Engineering Lead Summary:

The Engineering Lead will assume a pivotal role in directing manufacturing operations, emphasizing innovation, quality, and operational excellence. This position will be instrumental in driving engineering initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Engineering Lead Responsibilities:
 
  • Lead and inspire a team in foam manufacturing operations, prioritizing safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS) to uphold product quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and root cause analyses to tackle quality issues and instigate corrective measures.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute solutions for manufacturing challenges, leveraging engineering expertise.
  • Propel continuous improvement efforts to elevate product performance, streamline processes, and optimize costs.
  • Take charge of start-up operations and ongoing production, including overseeing extrusion processes, managing product transitions, and coordinating equipment maintenance.
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training protocols to enhance manufacturing processes and ensure consistency.
  • Work in tandem with the Plant Leadership Team to devise and implement strategies aligned with overarching business goals.

Engineering Lead Requirements:
 
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Accumulate a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, ideally within the foam or plastics sector.
  • Demonstrate robust leadership capabilities, particularly in guiding teams within a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Quality Management Systems and adeptness in root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Showcase exceptional problem-solving aptitude and a penchant for driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate seamlessly across various levels of the organization.
  • Exhibit an unwavering commitment to safety, quality assurance, and achieving tangible business outcomes.
